Antique Edwardian Yellow Gold Filled Fleur-de-Lis Watch Brooch Pin - Macpherson-Roubaud Co. #c979
This beautiful yellow gold-filled fleur-de-lis watch pin was created by the Macpherson-Roubaud Co. Macpherson-Roubaud was in business circa 1915 in Providence, RI which dates this lovely piece to the Edwardian period.

The brooch features the shape of a fleur-de-lis or stylized lily shape, which is a very old and highly recognizable motif. The front of the pin has lovely chased scroll and other designs and the sides of the fleur-de-lis are more closed than others I'm used to seeing, which gives the central portion of the pin a distinct butterfly shape. Concealed on the back of the pin is a hook that can be used to hold a watch, pendant, fob or charm. The pin closes with an old-style safety clasp closure that is a precursor to the safety clasps used today. It's such an elegant and highly versatile piece!

The brooch measures about 1 inch long, 3/4 inch wide and weighs 2.3 grams. It is signed with the letters "MR" inside a diamond shape on the back of the brooch, which is the maker's mark of Macpherson-Roubaud Co.

This gold fleur-de-lis pin is truly gorgeous! It's such a versatile piece that can be worn alone or in myriad ways. I think it would look fabulous holding a vintage gold locket or a watch fob. Whatever you add to this pretty piece is sure to create a sensational look. The brooch is in excellent vintage condition for its age and is ready to wear or to gift!
