This beautiful watch fob is an organizational piece that was worn on the watch chains of members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) The B.P.O.E. is a fraternal organization that was founded in New York City in 1868. It is a social and charitable organization which focuses on helping veterans and youth among other activities.

This Elks fob has a lovely yellow gold filled finish. It is thick and diamond-shaped with a left-facing Elk head in the center. A blue, white and gold clock face with the time set a 11:00 p.m. sits above the Elk head, a symbol of the time when the group remembers its deceased and absent members at meetings. A curved banner enameled in blue with the letters B.P.O.E. in gold sits at the bottom of the piece. The fob has beautiful chased borders on both the front and back, and a large decorative bail holds the piece, extending down along both top sides. The fob has a gold ring for adding it to a watch chain, bracelet or necklace chain. It's an elegant and marvelous piece of history!

The fob measures about 1 1/4 inches long, 1 inch wide and weighs 5.5 grams. It has the initials "B.P.O.E." for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks on the front.

This fob is a wonderful historical piece and would make a superb gift for any Elks member. It is in excellent antique condition with only normal surface scratches from previous use and storage. It shows very well and is ready to use or gift out of the box!
