Antique Victorian 9Ct Yellow Gold, White Seed Pearl Stem & Leaves Bar Pin Brooch - 1.6 Grams #c815
This beautiful Victorian bar pin brooch is constructed of 9Ct rosy yellow gold and white seed pearls. It features a long bar with flared fluted ends and an open circular center. A stem flows out from the bar into the open circle and terminates at three lovely seed pearl accented leaves. The brooch closes with a c catch and it has a removable safety chain with a safety pin style pin for attaching to clothing. It has such a delightfully feminine beauty!
The brooch measures about 1/2 inch long, 2 inches wide and weighs 1.6 grams. It is signed with a makers mark that I could not decipher and 9Ct on the back. It acid tested as 10K gold. The pin of the pin back is not gold.
This is such an enchanting brooch! It would make a wonderful addition to a fine antique jewelry collection and a fabulous gift! The brooch is in good condition for its age. There is some overall patina to the piece from age. The c catch is a replacement and it is somewhat bent, but it works. The pin of the brooch pin back and the end of the safety chain safety pin exhibit dark patina in spots. See photo #7 for close-ups of these condition issues. None of this detracts from the beauty of the pin when worn, but the piece has been discounted accordingly.
