Edwardian Sterling Silver Blue Guilloche Enamel Fleur-de-Lis Brooch Pin, New England Watch #d140
This beautiful antique brooch was created by the New England Watch Case and Jewelry company of Boston, MA. It has the three-dimensional shape of a lovely fleur-de-lis, or stylized lily, which is a very old and highly recognizable motif. It features a guilloche enamel finish in a lovely teal blue with gold floral and vine accents on its top half. The etched silver beneath the enamel shows through, adding a marvelous depth to the piece. The brooch closes with an old-style c catch and the pin extends beyond the brooch on one side, which was common on pieces from this era. It's an absolutely gorgeous brooch!

The brooch measures about 1 1/16 inches long, 13/16 inch wide and weighs 2.8 grams. It is signed with the letters "NE" inside a heart which is the trademark of the New England Watch Case and Jewelry Co. and hallmarked "Sterling" on the back.

This fleur-de-lis pin is simply exquisite! The combination of the teal blue and gold accents is so striking. There is only the slightest speck of what appears to be enamel loss in the bottom left corner of what would be referred to as the "stalk" of the lily on the piece, which is amazing for a piece of this age. The brooch has a heavy patina to the back and it has remanents of a gold wash that has faded over time. None of the aforementioned affects the beauty or functionality of this fine antique piece. It's a superb find!
