Vintage Hopi Sterling Silver & Pink MOP Cuff Bracelet, Caroline Tawangyaouma, Freeform, 3D, Iridescent, Native American, Nice! #c461
DESCRIPTION: This wonderful sterling silver cuff is a signed, handmade piece by Hopi artisan, Caroline Tawangyaouma. Caroline, a silversmith in her own right, was also the wife of Hopi silversmith, Ralph Tawangyaouma, a very early, 20th-century pioneer of the Hopi silver jewelry craft.

This Tawangyaouma cuff has an open design with two silver bands that hold a gorgeous, freeform pink mother of pearl (MOP) cabochon on the front. The MOP has a beautiful iridescence and is uniquely shaped with a three-dimensional profile that gives it fabulous visual appeal when viewed from the sides. The simplicity of the cuff really allows the striking MOP stone to be the center of attention of this lovely piece. It's a marvelous handcrafted bracelet!

MARKS: The bracelet is signed "CT" for Caroline Tawangyaouma and hallmarked "Sterling" on the back of the MOP cabochon.

SIZE: The bracelet has an inner diameter of about 2 7/8 inches and an opening in the back of approximately 1 1/16 inches. The MOP cabochon is about 13mm by 18mm in size.

WEIGHT: 15.6 grams.

CONDITION: Excellent pre-owned, vintage condition. Normal surface scratches from previous use/wear/storage and possibly some mild tarnish. Shows exceptionally well.

USES: This is a fantastic signed bracelet from a very talented Hopi silversmith! It is very well made and would make a great addition to a Native American silver jewelry collection. It would also make a fine gift for anyone who loves Native American silver jewelry. It's a fabulous vintage find!
