Vintage Mexico Sterling Silver Aztec Mayan Calendar Round Screw Back Earrings - Pre-Eagle - Artist Signed #d500

Regular price $49.00
These wonderful Mexican earrings are early pre-Eagle mark pieces and date to circa the 1940s. They are round in shape with chased circular designs of Aztec or Mayan calendars on the fronts. The calendar symbols are raised and shiny silver and stand out against the recessed areas that are slightly darker. Being completely covered with these fantastic symbols gives the earrings a beautiful, highly textured appearance. The earrings are finished in a smooth silver on the backs and they close with screw back closures. They are beautiful!

The earrings measure about 11/16 inch in diameter and they weigh 5.7 grams. They are signed and hallmarked on the backs with "Hecho En Mexico 925" in a circle around a maker's mark of what appears to be 'JED" of "JFD", but the mark is partially obscured by the screw back.

These gorgeous earrings would make a great gift for anyone who appreciates fine Mexican silver jewelry. The earrings are in excellent vintage condition. Being handmade, they may exhibit slight variations that would not be present in machine-made pieces. They are a marvelous find!
