Vintage Mexico Sterling Silver Black Onyx Earrings, Early Mexico, Pre-Eagle, Dangle, Drop, Screw Back, 1940s, Long, Superb! #b900
I present today this superb pair of vintage Mexican sterling silver and black onyx earrings!

These beautiful earrings are early Mexican pieces that were created in the 1940's, prior to the use of the Eagle stamp system. They feature round silver screw back tops with bezel set, highly domed black onyx cabochons. Long silver dangles with teardrop-shaped black onyx cabochons hang down from the earring tops. The dangles have an oxidized shadowbox setting with applied silver swirl designs and round and long silver bead details. The cabochons are all bezel set and are adorned with lovely rope details. The backs of the dangles are flat, and when examined they clearly reveal the marvelous handmade silver work from the front side. They are superb!

The earrings measure about 1 1/2 inches long, 5/8 inch wide and weigh 7.0 grams. They are signed "Mexico" and "Silver" on the backs of the earring tops, which was common for early Mexican sterling silver jewelry pieces. As mentioned above, the earrings close with screw back closures.

These earrings are an absolute delight for the eyes! They are clearly the work of very talented silversmith and are in exceptional vintage condition. If you love Mexican silver, this is a very fine pair of earrings to add to your collection. Just imagine how wonderful they would look paired with a black outfit and lots of silver bangles! They are ready to wear or to gift!
