Vintage Mexico Sterling Silver Dangle Earrings, Lantern Shape, Early Mexican, Screw Back #c581
These beautiful handmade earrings are early Mexican and were made prior to the use of Eagle stamps. They feature sterling silver button tops with gorgeous lantern shaped dangles. The dangles are three-dimensional and have fantastic cutout scroll designs over their entire surfaces. The earrings are finished in a smooth silver and they close with screw back type closures. They are exceptional!

The earrings measure about 1 1/2 inches long, 11/16 inch wide and weigh 8.8 grams. They are signed with a maker's mark of "JGT" and hallmarked "925" on the bottom of both dangles. They also the typical circular-shaped Mexican hallmarks on the backs of the earring tops which are very worn and where partial "Mex" and "925" marks can be seen.

These earrings are striking and so unique! They would make a fine addition to a Mexican silver jewelry collection and a very nice gift. The earrings are in excellent vintage condition. They came to me with a heavy tarnish and I polished them to bring out their shine, but did not remove all of their age patina. They are a fabulous vintage find!
