Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise Pierced Earrings, John White, Shadowbox, Teardrop, Dangle #c578
I'm pleased to offer these fabulous handwrought earrings by Navajo silversmith, John White! White has been active since the 1970's and is known for his beautiful shadowbox work. His work appears scarce and is quite collectible. I'm dating these lovely earrings to circa 1980.

The earrings are comprised of fine sterling silver and have teardrop shaped dangles. The dangles feature round shadowbox settings in the center that hold gorgeous oval, blue turquoise stones. The stones are set in sawtooth bezels and the shadowbox area is oxidized, which really sets off the blue in the stones. The bottom edges have geometric shadowbox cutouts that are also oxidized black inside. The tops of the earrings are etched with curved lines that start at the stone setting and go up to the top edges. The dangles hang from sterling silver fish hook style ear wires. They are stunning!

The earrings measure about 1 5/8 inches long, 5/8 inch wide and weigh 5.4 grams. They are signed "John White" and hallmarked "Sterling" on the backs of both earring dangles.

These handcrafted John White earrings are beautiful, one of a kind finds! They are highly collectible and sought after, and would be a fine addition to a Native American silver jewelry collection. The earrings are in excellent vintage condition and ready to be worn and shown off! They are truly gorgeous!
