Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver & Abalone Inlay Triangular Screw Back Earrings - Mexico #c777
These beautiful vintage pierced earrings were handmade in Taxco, Mexico. They are pre-Eagle mark pieces and were made prior to 1948.

The earrings have large silver ball tops with triangular-shaped dangles hanging beneath them. The dangles have a geometric inlay of abalone shell with wonderful colors and iridescence. The backs of the earrings are finished in a smooth silver and the earrings close with screw back style closures. They are large and wonderful statement earrings!

The earrings measure about 1 1/2 inches long, 7/8 inch wide and weigh 8.3 grams. They are signed and hallmarked "Sterling Taxco 925" in a circle around a maker's mark of "FJM" on the back of one of the earring dangles.

These earrings are so colorful and unique! With their beautiful array of colors, they could be worn with just about anything. They can be dressed up or down, making them extremely versatile. They would make a great addition to a Mexican silver jewelry collection and a very nice gift! They are quite substantial and could be easily converted to pierced earrings if desired. They are ready to wear out of the box!
